The physics of
dinghy speed.

A dedicated training ecosystem for competitive dinghy sailors aged 13–18, from Optimist to Moth. The AI coach here is programmed by me and fed information from qualified sailing coaches, so it can match the quality of advice from a coach on the water.

See the AI coach in action

A sample tactical question from a real race scenario. The coach is programmed by me and trained on information from qualified sailing coaches.

I'm sailing a Laser. Wind is shifting right and I'm on starboard approaching the windward mark with three boats overlapped to leeward. What's my best move?
AI Coach
With a right-shifting breeze and an overlapped pack to leeward, your priority is protecting your lane to the layline. Hold starboard, sail slightly higher than VMG for 30–45 seconds to break the overlap, then bear off cleanly into the mark. Tacking now puts you on port into a header, avoid it unless the boats below force you. Watch for the next puff before committing.

Built for every sailor

Training that adapts to your body and your boat.

Whether you race an Optimist, a Laser, a 420, a Finn or a foiling Moth, and whether you are a youth sailor, a master, or a para athlete, every plan here can be made easier or harder to fit your body, your boat and what you're aiming for.

Methodology

Where this training comes from.

Checked by coaches

I run the drills past real dinghy coaches before I put them on here.

Backed by research

The gym and food advice comes from proper sports-science sources, they're all listed on the Sources page.

Tested at real regattas

I'm an India-ranked Open Skiff sailor and I use this stuff myself. I came 2nd out of 45 at the Eurochallenge in Warnemünde.

Honest about limits

If I'm not sure, or it depends on your coach, I say so instead of making something up.
